Sylvia Soohee Choi holds a Master’s degree in architecture from University of Michigan and received a Bachelor’s degree in architecture from Hanyang University. Prior to joining JeongChoi Works, she had worked for NHDM, Ten to One and Andrew Berman Architect in New York, contributing to a wide range of research and architectural projects.
Daegeon Jeong received his Master’s degree from Columbia University and Bachelor’s degree in architecture from Hanyang University. He had participated in 2011 Gwangju Design Biennale as an assistant curator. He also had worked for various architecture firms in Korea and US, including Doojin Hwang Architects, N.I.A and TSKP Studio.
Sylvia and Daegeon founded NY-Seoul based design and research studio, JeongChoi Works, in 2016. Their works have been presented through several art and architecture exhibitions and publications, including the exhibition ‘Local Artists’ at Hot Wood Arts Gallery in Brooklyn, ‘Artificial Nature’ at Soda Museum in Korea, and ‘Self Evolving City of the Future’ at Seoul Museum of Art organized by UIA Seoul 2017. Through these projects, JeongChoi Works has been presenting and showing their visions and thoughts based on their observations of architecture and cities in contemporary society.
